What CanAI is
CanAI is a trilingual (English, German, Spanish) app combining conversational AI with a full record of your dog's life: health, weight, vaccines, walks, food, behaviour. The AI has context — it knows your Labrador is a 5-year-old neutered male with mild overweight, so answers are tailored, not generic.
What sets it apart from a generic chatbot
- Persistent context: no need to repeat breed, age, conditions each time.
- Current veterinary guidance: trained against real guidelines (WSAVA, BSAVA, RVC).
- Local adaptation: UK users get Dangerous Dogs Act references, GBP pricing, Vets Now triage thresholds, AHC reminders.
- Multimodal: snap a photo of a wound, a kibble label or an odd stool — the AI analyses it.
- Real privacy: your dog's data is not used to train external models.
Where CanAI earns its keep
1. Is this an emergency?
Saturday night, your dog has vomited three times. £180 OOH visit or wait until Monday? Describe the symptoms, breed and what they ate. CanAI gives red/amber/green triage with reasoning.
2. Drug dose and interactions
Your vet prescribed meloxicam but you're not sure of the dose. CanAI knows the per-kg dosing and flags interactions with other medications your dog already takes.
3. Portion calculation
Switching foods. CanAI calculates the transition plan and exact daily ration based on ideal weight and the new food's calorie density.
4. Label decoding
Photo of a kibble label. CanAI explains what "meat and animal derivatives 30%" actually means and suggests better alternatives within budget.
5. Behaviour
Your dog suddenly pulls on lead differently. Describe the situation. CanAI proposes a 4-6 week plan with exercises and criteria for when to involve a behaviourist.
6. Critical reminders
Annual booster, monthly flea/tick treatment, quarterly worming, annual senior MOT. CanAI nudges you ahead of every date.
What CanAI is NOT
- Not a vet replacement. Use it for triage, prep, management questions. Clinical decisions stay with your vet.
- Not a diagnosis machine. Orientation, not definitive clinical judgement.
- No prescription advice. Over-the-counter products yes; POM medications stay with your vet.
The adoption module
If you're considering adoption, the adoption section lists dogs from UK shelters (Dogs Trust, Battersea, RSPCA, Many Tears) filtered by breed, size, location, energy, cat/child compatibility. The AI helps you match a dog to your lifestyle realistically.
Health, tools and insurance
In health you log vaccines, weight, meds, episodes. In tools you get calculators (portions, ideal weight, travel checklist). In insurance we compare UK policies with current data.
Privacy
Your data lives on EU servers. We don't sell it, we don't train external models on it. GDPR-compliant. Export and delete everything any time.
